Vaccinations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies and children

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies and children are special and can get extra protection with other vaccines. These help to protect them from diseases that can be more serious for them.

Ask your Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker about these extra vaccines.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities can get vaccinations from general practitioners (doctors), Community Care Centres, Remote Primary Health Centres, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, Community Health Services, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Different vaccinations are recommended for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies and children depending on where they live. Adults can also get extra vaccines. You can find out what is recommended here.
